EXCLUSIVE | WHO COPIED WHO?
Streaming music service, MOG & Apple may be getting their design-dukes out. At the moment, one of them may not even realize there is a striking similarity between their graphic design choices.
Announced June 3, 2013, the iTunes Radio logo featured a red-ish-radio.
iTunes Radio was not the first free music service. Not by a long-shot. MOG began in June 2005 as a music-themed social & blog network. While it’s not an identical match it’s awfully similar.
It’s unclear when the red radio icon appeared near the bottom of MOG’s homepage.
As early as March of 2012 audio hardware company, Beats Electronics made no secret of plans to acquire MOG & did so a month later. MOG is majority-owned by Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC & is direct competitor of Apple.
MOG, HTC & Apple have not yet made statements about the common style of these designs or who has prior use.
